Some careers, specifically those working with children, are likely to require a police check through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). Use the links listed below to get more detailed information about applying for a CRB check and who deals with the issues surrounding disclosure:

APEX TRUST advice on how and when to declare a conviction.
NACRO - campaigns on behalf of ex-offenders. Provides advice and information on how and when to declare a criminal record to an employer.
Prospects - provide advice for people with previous convictions.

Disabled Workers Cooperative
A registered charity that helps disabled people to help themselves. With aims of raising the independence of disabled people who wish to take an active role in the economy and achieve a greater sense of self-worth and also to raise aawareness of the contribution that disabled people can make to society.
