Making the most of your time at Bath Spa

Don't leave thinking about your career until your final year. Employers and postgraduate course tutors are looking for evidence of relevant practical skills and experience gained, as well as knowledge developed within your degree studies.

Gaining practical experience alongside your studies, through placements, part time jobs and voluntary work, will also give you the opportunity to:

  • explore potential ideas and see if your chosen subjects and module selections are compatible with your future goals and plans
  • experience different environments and types of jobs to determine your preferences
  • and above all allow you to make informed choices about your future

  • You can browse the careers information in the careers section within the library at both Newton Park and Somerset Place, collect any take away literature which may be relevant, or make an appointment with a careers adviser to discuss
  • Register with the Jobshop for part time and vacation work to suit your interests
  • Register with Volunteer Challenge to find suitable voluntary positions
  • Get involved with Student Societies and voluntary posts in the Students' Union
