There are a wide range of services and resources available to students undertaking Foundation/Distance Learning/Wessex Consortium programmes of study.
We can offer you:

Careers Resources at Newton Park
Occupational publications: information on a wide range of career options with particular relevance to subject studied at BSUC.
Computer packages: careers guidance and funding search database available on both campuses.
Self Assessment: guides and books exploring practical methods of self-assessment in relation to careers planning, including changing careers and advice for mature graduates.
Information Leaflets: linking subject of study to sources of information and potential career options.
Jobs Boards: displaying vacancies, including full time local and national jobs, graduate recruitment schemes and work placements and internships. Notice-boards are located in the careers service at Newton Park , in the SU foyer at Newton Park and outside the Students' Union office at Somerset Place, Basement, House 8.
Specialist Journals and Jobs Publications: on reference in the careers service covering specific occupational areas such as environment, charities, arts.
CV's, Applications and Interviews: advice on job seeking, producing an effective CV, interview techniques, presentations and psychometric testing.
Postgraduate Study
Prospectuses of most UK universities, covering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and information from specialist institutions, ie art, performance, environment.
Publications and websites of postgraduate opportunities - local, national and international
FunderFinder: Search for funding using the database of sources. Available on BSU Careers Service computers.

Teaching Applications: information, advice and guidance on teaching courses, applications and interviews for entry to teacher training.
Teaching Vacancy Bulletins and Teaching Jobs Boards: local and regional teaching vacancy bulletins, links to teaching vacancy websites and noticeboards of individual teaching jobs.
Work/Study Abroad
Working in Europe and Internationally: information files, publications and web sites covering international opportunities and work experience, specific information on job seeking and study by country, links to websites of overseas jobs.

Prospects Planner: is an online job exploration tool. which helps you explore your strengths and abilities, asking a series of questions and then matching your responses to a database of 800+ jobs.
